Action plan to reduce suicides
A STRATEGY to prevent suicides in South Glos has been launched.
The council is asking for comments on a draft version of the policy, which sets out proposed key aims, intentions and areas of focus for the council and partner organisations between now and 2021.
An audit of recorded deaths over the past three years found that there were 54 suicides in South Gloucestershire – an average of 18 each year. This represented just under eight deaths per 100,000 people every year – below both the regional and national average.
The consultation is open until February 1 next year. It can be found online at bit.ly/2K7S3FG
