Bandit the dog joins police drugs raid
A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of dealing cannabis after a raid on a house in Emersons Green.
A police dog was used to sniff out a suspected stash of the Class B drug as officers searched a house in Colliers Break on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 18. Cash and drug-related equipment were also seized by police, who arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. He was later released but remains under investigation.
Avon and Somerset police said the operation involved neighbourhood and response officers, volunteer special constables and specialist search dog Bandit, pictured.
On the same afternoon an address in nearby Lyde Green was also searched. Another man is due to attend a police station voluntarily after being found in possession of a small amount of cannabis during the operation.
Neighbourhood PC James Rochford said: "The community has been reporting issues with people coming and going at all hours. We're grateful for the information they have been giving us.It can sometimes take us a while to build the evidence we need to get a warrant from the court but I hope this activity will show that we’re listening and acting on their information about criminal activity."
