A LADIES choir in Emersons Green is looking for new members to join them when they start their new term in January.

Sounds Delightful Choir is run by Rachael Hunt and the group recently celebrated its fifth birthday. The choir meets on Tuesdays at Emersons Green Village Hall between 8pm and 9.30pm and there is also a sister group that meets on Mondays at the Ridgewood Community Centre in Yate, between 7pm and 8.30pm.

Each session costs £5.50 and the group sings a range of pop, musicals and folk songs.

Rachael said: “I started the choirs as I love the well-being singing brings, releasing serotonin in the brain, and the way it brings people together.

“Often people arrive tired, with shoulders hunched, after being at work or busy with their families, and by the time they leave they have a spring in their step with a weight lifted! It's a wonderful community.”

“We'd love to grow our numbers so we can do more performances and create an even more fabulous sound!”

The choir is also busy preparing for a winter concert at the Masonic Hall in Chipping Sodbury on Sunday December 16, at 7.30pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

No experience is needed to join Sounds Delightful Choir and there are no auditions. To find out more about the choir, visit the website www.soundsdelighted.org.uk or contact Rachael by emailing info@soundsdelighted.org.uk or calling 07908 211 174.
