March 2019: Lyde Green Community Association

February 27 2019

WE flung open our doors on snow day and put on a free soft-play session for those able to make the trek to the Centre. We also welcomed a special guest, Home Secretary Sajid Javid, through the doors in early February.

Our thoughts have now turned to our Annual Summer Sizzler, which will be on Saturday July 13 – we already have stalls booked in and are looking forward to a bigger and better event this year – fingers crossed the weather is good to us again.
Our Lyde Green Partnership meeting took place in February and presented another opportunity to bring those with an interest in the community together. Much-needed facilities are starting to arrive locally, with Happy Days Nursery, Sainsbury’s Local and David Lloyd set to open in late 2019/early 2020 – great news!
As a small charity, we’re always looking for volunteers and will be seeking new trustees to join the team. If you’re interested in getting involved we’d be happy to hear from you and we are particularly looking for anyone with human resources or legal experience.
We’re also realising how much running a building as big as LGCC is going to cost, so we’re looking to hold some special fundraising events in the near future.
Our next event will be the first Lyde Green Table Top sale on Saturday March 16 from 1pm at LGCC. Why not book a table to sell your wares (£5 for individuals, £10 for businesses). You can sell anything from your table (within the law). Coffee at Lyde will be open for refreshments Pitches are limited so get in touch to book yours at or via Facebook.
