Primary needs your vote to win funding for sport
A PRIMARY school’s parent teacher association is appealing for help as it tries to win funding of £10,000 to build a running track for pupils.
Blackhorse PTA is a charity organisation of parents and staff, who work together to raise vital funds for the school.
Its latest project is to help pay for the school to build a running track and buy sports and athletics equipment.
To be in with a chance of winning £10,000 for the scheme from insurance firm Aviva’s community fund, the PTA needs as many people as possible to go online and vote for the scheme.
Blackhorse PTA is one of 3,350 charities and community groups across the country bidding for funding but only the projects with the most votes will become finalists, so every vote counts.
Head teacher Simon Botten said: “Having our own running track would allow every child to have the opportunity to have fun running every break time whether rain or shine. A flat surface also means that children who are visually impaired or just need a little more guidance can gain the confidence to join in too”
