BEAVER Scouts from the 1st Mangotsfield, 67th Kingswood Scout Group raised £250 for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity through a sponsored scooter ride in Emersons Green park.

Ian from GWAAC visited the Beaver Colony to talk about the charity’s work. It costs £2.6 million to run GWAACm which is funded completely by donations. It does not receive any funding from the Government or NHS. The GWAAC covers Bristol, Gloucestershire and Somerset and  assists neighbouring regions when needed. As well as the air ambulance it has an  emergency response car. Both are fully equipped and the critical care team can, if necessary, perform operations in situ.
