Taking action in war on plastic

May 30 2018

CHILDREN in Banksy Hub (Year 3 and 4) at Pucklechurch Primary School have been listening to the news about plastic pollution and wanted to do something to make a difference.

Learning the facts and statistics about “Our Blue Planet” and the effects that pollution have been having on it inspired them to take to the village streets every Tuesday afternoon to pick up litter. They have also been raising awareness of the issues with family and friends.

Assistant head Alex Capel said: “We are very proud of how seriously the children have got involved in this. They know that this not only affects their generation but generations to come. At Pucklechurch Primary, by allowing the children to drive their learning agenda, we feel that this has brought their learning to life in a meaningful way. We want them to continue making a difference.”
