What a send-off!
EMERSONS Green Primary School head teacher Karl Hemmings showed he was a good sport when he agreed to take a soaking at the school's summer fair.
Mr Hemmings, who is leaving to take charge of a special school in Thornbury from September, had sponges thrown at him to raise money during the fundraising event, staged by the school's parents, teachers and friends association.
A school spokesperson said: "It was wonderful to welcome our families back onto the school site for our Summer Fayre.
"We were also joined by extended family and past pupils. We are so grateful to our PTFA for all their hard work, which resulted in a joyous event."
The school has also been enjoying a return to "normal" summer terms after the pandemic, with days out for pupils to Westonbirt Arboretum, Clevedon Pier, the SS Great Britain, Wild Place and the Roman fortress of Isca in Wales.
